Who wants to see AGUIRRE, WRATH OF GOD on the big screen with me tomorrow at 9:00? Having seen it at AFI a couple years ago, I can assure you, this film is somehow even better on the big screen.

Just before that, there'll also be FITZCARRALDO (a film I like, but it's like a less awesome version of AGUIRRE, and the behind-the-scenes story infinitely more interesting) and the amazing POW story LITTLE DIETER NEEDS TO FLY, which Herzog himself adapted as RESCUE DAWN with Christian Bale.

C'mon, folks! 9:00 for AGUIRRE, if nothing else! Let's get grog at Piratz Tavern, and then watch Herzog!

I'm thinking of getting there around 7:30-8ish, to hit up Piratz Tavern. Wanna food and grog it up with me? Also, do you think we'll be able to get tickets there around that time, or should we buy in advance online? Man, I hate doin' that.

I'm actually thinking of seeing WATCHMEN again this weekend sometime too. Maybe tonight, or maybe tomorrow before or after AGUIRRE. You wouldn't be up for that too, would you?

I was already thinking about watching Watchmen again tomorrow afternoon, but I forgot. I made no plans, but I have no plans, so I'm down for whatever.

Food and grog at Piratz sounds fun - I've missed going there a couple of times with my Firefly meetup group (shush). Also 7th Sea has been canceled tonight due to pooping monkeys the GMs children having diarrhea, so I may need the pirate fix.

As for AFI, who knows. I wouldn't wait until right before the movie to get the tickets, though: the line might be long, and I've been shut out there before. I'd hope 7ish would be okay for a 9ish showing of Aguirre (I almost typed Akira, I swear). It's just hard to tell what DCists are gonna flock out for and what they aren't.

If you're up for it, then heck, we could do WATCHMEN in the afternoon, get dinner at Piratz, then do AGUIRRE, all in Silver Spring! Assuming that it's playing at the Silver Spring megaplex dealie there. I was actually thinking of seeing it at the Uptown, but I can do that another night. I doubt it'll be the last time I'll see it in theatres.

If you want, I'd actually prefer the Uptown, 'cause I've never gone there and always wanted to. Silver Spring's where I always go, and it makes me a little homicidal. One may be more or less practical than the other, though I've never much bothered with practicality.

WATCHMEN's at 3:20, so we should be out by 6:30, we'll get to Silver Spring by 7:00-7:30, we can get tickets for AGUIRRE, then go to Piratz for dinner, should be enough time to eat and drink until the show's at 9:00. Sounds like it should all fit nicely!

Shall we take one car or go separately? I live in Cabin John, and since you're... College Park, are you?... I dunno if we could logistically do the "drop one car off and drive together" thing.

Was more worried about getting there at 3 for a show that starts at 3:20. No worries - will aim for 2:30 (which means I might arrive at around 4:45...). I think I've spent too much time in France. XD

Yeah, curse all this logical planning stuff. Even if that were practical, finding a place just to put a car in CP is not fun (but will be looking for alternate lodging in late May - YAY). I can drive to Uptown. We can be the non-green Americans who take individual cars everywhere. Or we could meet in between and go to Uptown, or any of the above. It's like a multiple choice exam, and all the answers are right, yay. Call if you need to. I should be around (if unconscious).

Heh, I'm the only one that needs to aim for 2:30. That just means I'll probably get there at 3:15. If you think 20 minutes is enough time to get tickets, then 3pm will do (but I'll continue to think I need to be there by 1 or 2...).
