Occasionally you will get @ replies from people you don't follow.
Which is how I communicate with comics guys ('cause they sure don't follow me! Well, one or two actually do, but that is because I am not an ass. At least not mostly.)
At first I thought Twitter was useless, made an account, deleted it. Now it gives me hope for humanity.
I still do worry about its ownership, however, and refuse to get too firmly attached until we learn exactly what their profit model is, though.
