NSFW, and you'll need to jump through a minor hurdle to prove your age, but it's worth it.

I showed this to [livejournal.com profile] fiveseconddelay last night. He wanted to watch it twice, which I think rather says something. Then I followed it up by showing him THE RULES OF ATTRACTION, which I was pleasantly surprised to discover he didn't hate.

But yes, absolutely, Kim: I don't know how Miles Fisher could top this, but I'd still love to see him try a BATMAN BEGINS vid. Or, I dunno, do a dark and sinister take on NEWSIES.

Speaking of Christian Bale, it was nice to discover that TERMINATOR: SALVATION wasn't as horrible as I'd expected. It's surprisingly enjoyable in parts. Anton Yelchin was easily the film's highlight; dear god, he actually managed to channel Michael Biehn, it was nutty.

Still, it's fascinating to consider the changes made to the script at the behest of Bale, and the original script that would have made TERMINATOR: SALVATION better, if not more interesting. If I'm actively bothered by anything, it's that this demoted Yelchin's Kyle Reese from supporting lead to supporting character.

Okay, that's just eerie- mpreg fics squick me out something fierce and even SAYING this is freaking me out a bit, but this guy looks like the lovechild of Tom Cruise and Christian Bale. Like if their DNA were LITERALLY intertwined. And I'm just not... *blech*

That said, he's really effin' talented (no hurdles to leap through but a minute in I felt like I was doing something very wrong).

I say "he looks like the lovechild of..." all the time without even thinking about any of the rest of that. I think it's just a thing you say and won't incur judgment.

It's not a big deal, I just find it amusing that I used to say that too ("lovechild of"), before I was introduced to LJ and fandom and... fic. And mpreg. And now? So many bad things in my head!

But on the upside, it's fodder for a new novel I'm thinking of writing.

Isn't it FUN? I have to agree with the poster above re: Bale/Cruise blend, but he's got the mannerisms at least and I think he does a good job with the song, too. I didn't care for the original, if I'm being honest (I liked enough of their other work to justify liking a cover, I promise!)

I bought some paint for Two-Face. And am ripping his bow-tie off. I might Sculpey him a new one.

I have to watch it every couple of hours. It's mesmerizing. Especially the last minute or so, everything from the rain coat onward, right down to the last look as he's getting zipped up. It's so awesome. And I barely even remember the film from when I saw it in theatres! I saw it right after I saw the first X-MEN movie, that's how long it's been!!!

As for the Cruise bit, did you see this in the relevant Miles Fisher links?

Funny that you don't care for the original. Maybe it's just that I've heard it used for lots of things on public radio (it fits the NPR genre, apparently) but now it's one of the only Talking Heads songs I actually do like! So hey, you're in a better position than I am, if we wanna talk justifying liking a cover!

YAY! At this point, I'm not sure what to expect anymore. I trust your judgment, that's for sure! Meantime, you rip that bow-tie off, you.

Has there been a throw-away villain who's trifling origin is told by his life flashing before his eyes? "OMG you killed Evil Kenny!"

Watching Chess reminded me of the Lex story you lent me where he's playing a dozen games and keeps making a move and announcing checkmate. That's not right. It should be "N-Q5 mate in three. B-QB3 mate in five. RxP mate in...twelve. BxQ checkmate - you're fired."

Y'know, that's a good question! Can't say I recall if there has!

Haha, oh, nice. Gotta remember that one if I ever write Lex someday.
