Leaving for Indianapolis tomorrow, with henchgirl [livejournal.com profile] bitemetechie in tow. She's the Shego to my Dr. Drakken, the Destro to my Cobra Commander. And from there, I'll either drive back to DC and get a plane to Vancouver, or we'll make the drive there and back before the Small Press Expo in DC on Sept. 26th, if that's possible.

In the meantime, this Onion article about a movie based on THE BROTHERS KARAMAZOV fills me with conflicting feelings, but mainly sadness. I try telling myself that they're just going by the stuffy old outdated public domain translations by Constance Garrett rather than the poetic beauty and awesomeness of the current version by Richard Pevear and Larissa Volokhonsky. I like to believe that most people wouldn't get bored halfway through and find that one painful to slog through as the older versions were.

Speaking of BROTHERS KARAMAZOV, I've long wondered who would be what role if one were to set the novel in the BATMAN world. Namely, which of the Robins would be which Brother. I was thinking Tim would be Alyosha, Jason would be Ivan, and Dick would be Dimitri, but I'm just not sure. Of course, no matter what, Two-Face would be Smyerdyakov. After all, when it comes to the BatFamily and the Robins in general, he is their Wacky Uncle Harv.

We talked at GREAT length about this one night. This was one of our little projects that never got off the ground.

"Has ANYONE actually read the script?!"

and yet page by page, year by year, I continue plodding through your copy of Tristram Shandy. I can't WAIT to see how it ends!
