Kill Bill Volume 2
Apr. 19th, 2004 03:50 pmIt occurs to me that I hadn't yet posted on my thoughts regarding Kill Bill Volume 2. I admit, I was a bit distracted by other things, but it is worth talking about. But why should I, when Peter David expressed my thoughts perfectly in his own blog?

Spoilers are ahead, and it's really for people who've already seen the movie. I absolutely loved it, and while I suppose I can understand why people would love the first and hate the second, those people are generally plebians, I say. Action is great and fun, but emotion and character development, while not packing as immediate a wallop, stays with you longer, grows in the memory, and is ultimately more satisfying. Great movies, and I'm damn glad QT split them up.
Oh, and the Morricone music! My GOD!!! When Bill first appeared, the music they played was Lee Van Cleef's intro music from "The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly." And the scene with Budd and the shotgun was right out of the duel from "Fistful of Dollars." Mag-fucking-nificent.
