I need a head shot! Now!
Jun. 15th, 2004 05:04 pmFellow actors, where can a get a nice, affordable head shot picture for an acting resume? Like, by next week?
So today was a blast; Studio sent me to help work at the League of Washington Theater sign-ups, and this was the most fun and educational experience I've had in this whole internship yet (more on that later)! I would have liked to had signed up, but I figured that since I wasn't going to be free until, like, next June, what was the point, right? But someone pointed out that it might be a damn wise idea to audition anyway, and in the resume note "Will be availible as of June 2005" or something like that, just to get noticed and hopefully have my resume taken by someone. I can just get on the waiting list next week the day I'm there to help with the actual auditions.
So now I need to get a nice head shot taken so I can get it to Kinkos and make 65 copies with my resume on the back on high-quality paper. Can anyone point me to a good photographer?
cavenessity or
spacechild perhaps? You both seem to keep turning out some quality pictures. It'd be great to find somebody who could capture the essential "Heffiness." It's not as easy as you would think.

Date: 2004-06-15 02:35 pm (UTC)Might want to call Christopher O'Banks (http://www.christopherobanks.com)... he's also good, and gives you them electronically immediately, so you could print them out immediately.
But honestly, at this point, you might want to find a friend with a good digital camera and go that route because of time.

Date: 2004-06-15 02:55 pm (UTC)Goddamn, girl, how can a starving actress like you afford this?! I mean, you look fucking hot in the pics, so I guess they're worth it, but still, Jesus Christ!

Date: 2004-06-15 03:01 pm (UTC)All of the acting expenses constitute most of my spending cash... I don't really buy much else. And remember, I'm not a starving actor just yet, I still do the 40 hours a week at NPR programming and such ;p
But yeah, it's ridiculous the money you have to put out just to have the materials to get yourself out there. Verily, it sucketh.
You don't need a stylist. Get yourself some no-shine cream (Smashbox brand I recommend), or literally some powder for your nose, have someone throw some gel in your hair, and make sure you shave how you want to. Men fortunately have it a bit easier on that whole styling thing. Also make sure whatever top you wear is loud-pattern-free. Texture is good, and definitely don't wear white.

for that price, you get a full resolution cd with all the shots on it, and one 8x10 of your choice (you pick the shot you want).
