Show Dates for Fall Semester WAC shows
Aug. 26th, 2004 04:36 amSo several of you, besides my core groupies, have expressed an interest in driving an hour and a half up to Chestertown some weekend to see one or perhaps even both of my shows. Well, I finally got the dates for the first one I'm in, so for the sake of things, here's the info.
"Good" by C.P. Taylor
I am required to be in this show for my performance thesis, because the director, a professor, wants to see how I evolve and work as an actor during the rehearsal process. I am cast in the show, but I have no idea in what role. As for the show itself, I've heard it described as a WWII-era intellectual "Pennies from Heaven" (or "Dancer in the Dark" if you don't remember that great Steve Martin flick). I'm intrigued.
The dates are September 30, October 1 & 2, 2004. The first two aren't Hamlet performances, I think, so that should work out just fine. If not, I'm sure I could smuggle some people into a dress rehearsal.
And for the record, the OTHER show I'll be doing this fall, the one that's really important to me, is "Vigil," by Morris Panych. The dates for that, again, are November 12th and 13th. I'm not so sure about the seating on this one. I mean, for all shows a lot of the seats are filled by friends and family of the cast, but since the cast of this play is myself and Michelle Disney, I have to wonder how many WAC people will come to see an end-of-the-season show? As long as we end up with reasonably full houses both nights, all manner've things'll be well.
So yeah, anyone who's up for the drive, I'd love to have you there. And if "Good" turns out to be crap or if I'm going to need to do invites-only for Vigil, I'll let y'all know of here. Thanks, and pray for me, for I will have even less of social life than I have now. (is there such thing as negative social life, I wonder?)
