I've heard that the long-absent (from movies anyway... good movies, anyway) Spacey has been working on this dream project for some time, and even before seeing the trailer I thought he'd be perfect for it. I could so easily imagine him doing a dead-on Darrin impression. Now seeing this... umm... wow. Just... wow. Singing. Dancing. Spacey. With John Goodman, always wonderful to see him, and Bob frickin' Hoskins, baby! Which reminds me, must post the trailer for "Unleashed" sometime soonish.

Check it out here! Y'all need to see this!

I hope this film does well. Besides Spacey's recent misses, I don't know if audiences are clamoring for a movie A.) set in the 50's (or is it early '60? Forgive my ignorace) and B.) starring an old-fogie singer that stereotypical appeals only to people like Albert Brooks in "My First Mister".

I'm still very excited about it, 'cause well, Spacey!!, but I haven't heard much about how it did at Toronto. Everyone was worried that Spacey was too old to play Bobby, since Darin died at 37 and most of the movie is set when he's 25. Just worries me a bit that there's been little hype, since the TIFF was the first public screening. I see another "De-lovely" on the horizon. Wonderful movie, but as you noted, no audience.
