I try. I really do.

It's not like I go out of my way to be Mr. Movie Snob. And hey, I can respect someone else's opinion, provided they have good reasons for believing in what they do (which, on another note, is one of the reasons why even I've been getting so fed up with Bush supporters, even though I've been fighting like mad to respect the POV of everyone). But sometimes, someone gets an idea in their head, and then sometimes that idea is one shared by a seeming majority of people, and that's when I have to put my foot down. This is one of those times.
Edward Norton's performance as Will Graham was NOT better than William Petersen's! Anyone who thinks otherwise is blinded by their (well-deserved) love for Norton, who sleepwalks through the role and isn't even given the CHANCE by Red Dragon's screenwriter to expand on the character beyond a 2D cop. I can understand and respect people for prefering Hopkins' version of Hannibal Lecter over Bryan Cox... I disagree on the grounds that it's over the top and hammy vs. Cox's more subtle, realistic depiction, but I can respect that opinion. But to even *think* that Norton's better than Petersen... GAHHH! NO! That's where Movie Snob Heffie draws the line!
Fools! Fools and plebians!
