Ok, you know, I'm not really all that pissed off. People have been saying that comics as a medium have been doomed with the advent of TV, video games, blah blah blah. People also thought movie theaters were doomed with TV and VCRs. I have enough faith in the resiliance of artists that 2D animation will continue. I mean, Mike Judge has assembled his own Spike and Mike style animation festival that's gonna be running at the AFI for the next couple of weeks. These animators aren't making a whole hell of a lot of money (well, except Mike Judge). It's done for the art.
Besides, when it came to Disney's animated films, for every LION KING, there's a POCAHONTAS, HUNCHBACK, you name it. Oh, wait, they ripped off KIMBA, didn't they...?
That said, I really am pissed off by the ignorance of Eisner. "Say, 3D films make more money than the 2D films. Could it be because Monsters Inc was an intellegent, clever film and Atlantis was a piece of crap? No, it must be the ANIMATION!"
