great story from the set of Episode III...

"Small bit on "A young captain" from Revenge of the Sith (from Sydney Australia)

The guy's name is Rohan Nicols. He's voiced a character in an pilot indie animation-comedy called "Big Space" about a bunch of Australians lost in space. The 'young captain' in question is Captain Antilles (Heffie note: Shit! Wedge's dad! Eee!), and I heard a a great story from the set about his first day of shooting.

Apparently, he cut himself shaving right before he was due to shoot. No one in makeup could stop it bleeding - big cut! Then he gets his call to get into a buggy and onto the other side of the set where George is waiting for him. Guy's waiting all his life to be in Star Wars, right? And now he's bleeding to death from the chin. All over his Captains Uniform.

He says to George... "Hi...here I am...but I cut myself pretty bad...so...what do you want me to do?"

Prolly expecting to be replaced, he waits while George looks him over. Finally GL says...

"Here's what we'll do. Get back to make up. I want cuts just like that one, but all over your face. What was your line?..

[THE LINE WAS DID YOU MET WITH ANY RESISTANCE / NO SIR, WE MET WITH NO RESISTANCE]

"OK, now your line is: YES SIR...WE MET WITH SOME RESISTANCE!"

We'll have to wait for the movie to see if that story is true or not, but if it isn't, don't you think it should be?

Wasn't "Captain Antilles" also in charge of the Corellian Corvette that attempted to transport Leia to Obi-Wan at the beginning of Ep. IV. In fact, I think C-3PO says Antilles was master of the two droids.

Also, how do we know that this is Wedge's dad, as opposed to Wedge himself? Or are there major age issues there?

Trying to remember an Antillies in New Hope... he might have been that, but I only remember him from being one of the only pilots besides Luke to survive the Death Star run.

And I'm guessing it's daddy Antillies for two reasons: first, Wedge in the original trilogy was, like, late 20's-early 30's, and second, it would fit Lucas' prequel formula of Jango Fett-Boba Fett.

Unless of course after Anakin's episode I attack the republic has taken to recruiting 9-year-old pilots.

3PO's reference is right where look finds the message from Leia that R2 carries. "Who is she?" "She's beautiful", etc., but I think before "I wonder if she means old Ben Kenobi". 3PO is just rambling on in the background, and says something like "I don't know what he's talking about. Our last master was a Captain Antilles...".

But if the Jedi go into hiding, then that makes sense, perhaps Ben and/or Anakin gives the droids to Antilles in Ep. III.

Yeah, it probably is Wedge's dad, if any relation. Unless Lucas re-writes the character.

Maybe it's just the eternal presence of Severus Snape in my head, but I cannot see delivering that line in a non-snarky way. I'm bleeding from cuts all over my face, and I'm asked if I encountered any resistance. I can see so many potential responses...

"No, sir, I did this to myself and enjoyed it."

"Yes, sir, I had an unfortunate encounter with a pair of garden shears being wielded by Katharine Hepburn."

"Fuck you, sir. Just fuck you."
