Playwrighting II was cancelled today. Man, what a bummer. Besides the fact that it's a really fun class, I was looking forward to reading the first scene of my new work in progress. I may spend my free time today throwing myself into a few more scenes. Writing is what I need to do right now. It's the only thing I can do, more than acting and DDR, to stave off this depression. Even if it has to be thesis writing, I need to work. I need to lose myself in a fictional world for a few hours. It's all I can do.

Have you ever read anything at all by Guy Gavriel Kay? If not, you may want to give him a try. I'd recommend "Lions of Al-Rassan" or "Tigana" if you like European history, or "The Fionovar Tapestry" if you enjoy Arthurian-type legends. Also, Guy Kay is so cool and so talented, Chris Tolkein tapped him to help put together "The Silmarillion." He's one of those authors who sucks you in from page 1 and you look up 100 pages later to find you've been reading for 2 or 3 hours and you only thought it had been 30 minutes. They're great books if you need a few hours of not thinking about real life.
