thehefnerOPEN RANGE is a great movie. Yes, it is directed by and stars Kevin Costner, don't hold that against it. It also has Robert Duvall, Annette Benning, and Michael Gambon. It's also a western, yes, but it doesn't feel cheezy or hokey like so many a bad American western. This is a fine, fine piece of cinema, and while I remember it being praised critically, it was criminally underlooked. This absolutely deserved to be Oscar nominated. This movie is every bit as good as UNFORGIVEN, in my opinion. Take a chance with this one, I'm serious.
