Looks like I'm gonna have the bite the bullet and sign up for Actor's Center, 'cause man, I needs me some equity. I'm looking for audtions everywhere I can on the internet and for everything that's not a frickin' Doritos commercial what do I see? "Equity!" GAH! And worse, every film audition requires SAG membership. And how the HELL am I gonna get that? Bloody hell. All jobs are the same; they won't hire you if you don't have any experience and how the hell are you gonna get experience if you don't work...?!

I don't know about you folks, but this stinks of a plot. Only one dastardly mind could have concocted so devious and sadistic a plan. I won't dignify him by speaking his accursed name, but it rhymes with Meed Michards.

So far, I have a couple film audtions that are non-union that I'll try to shoot for. And one Levi's Jeans commerical. "Must look good in jeans," it says. Ha. I'll have to pull a Hasslehoff with the ol' gut...

First I get de Equity. Den I get de SAG. Den I get de roles. Den I get de wee-mon.

Truth? You'll likely get SAG long before you get Equity. The rules are easier to cope with.

If you're serious about an easy way into Equity, try going up to NYC and auditioning for a Biggs-Rosati national tour. It's six months of sheer hell, but you'll emerge with an Equity card if you want one.

They're still pissed at me for turning them down, though I haven't gotten a letter from them in a while, so they probably gave up.

Sign up for audition notices from Backstage.com. I get them, and usually there are opps for non-Equity stuff (esp film) and you just have to send them your resume and pic. It's free, so check it out!

I just googled auditions... I think the two best sites I found were castingcall.us and mandy.com. Well, by "best" I mean they actually had stuff listed, but lord knows if they'll come to anything.
