... when you meet a beautiful young woman, a woman you've never seen before in your life, and before you know it you're kissing and making out and you're in love and then you wake up, it was all a dream, she's gone, she never existed, and instead of waking up with her you wake to the news of dozens of people murdered in London bombings.

I mean, really. Don't you just hate it when that happens?

No, it's not as funny as flirting with a lesbian. But then again, what is?

No, THIS is funny.

"The really good superhero movies, like Superman, SpiderMan 2 and Batman Begins, leave Fantastic Four so far behind that the movie should almost be ashamed to show itself in the same theaters." -- Roger Ebert

That is indeed a very interesting review. Although I have to wonder how familiar Ebert is with the original characters; is he badmouthing the movie or the base characters themselves?

Still, a mightily amusing but sad review.

Unfortunately, what it reads like to me is a movie that expects to be the beginning of a series, and then spends much of its energy introducing itself rather than telling the story. Which is too bad, because I've always found origin stories to be the most interesting.

X-Men 1 suffered the same problem.

The other reviews at Rotten Tomatoes aren't any kinder than Ebert was.

Well, the Washington Post today thought it was "charming".
