Sep. 1st, 2005 03:06 amBig thanks to everyone who's responded to ALONE AT THE EMM GRYNER CONCERT so far. It's really important to me that I get your guys' honest thoughts on these. If you have criticisms, well, I won't love to hear them but I really *need* to hear them. I want to produce a body of work for a whole book eventually and I'll need all the help I can get!
Speaking of Emm, I just downloaded her first album from iTunes, "The Original Leap Year," and man, it's so good. I love this gal so much. In fact, I just found out she has a myspace.com page! I wonder if I should send her the Hefner Monologue. Wonder if I should? Hmmm... maybe it'd finally remind her to send me that mp3, which she still hasn't done. Not that I really am gonna press her on that.
In fact, because I'm in an Emm-y mood, I think I'll post some of her lyrics. I found this particular song for download off her myspace page: ( Half Sorry, by Emm Gryner )
In totally other news, my father wanted to talk to me today. As he has (so he claims, not sure what his sources are) reached the age expectancy for men in this country, he wanted to just make sure I knew that his ex-girlfriend Nita had the power of attorney. He also told me that he wanted to be cremated and not displayed in an open casket, just so I knew first-hand that's what he wanted. As for the ashes, they were to do with them as I deemed fit. I could probably think of something really smart-assed to say right here, but I won't.
Maybe I can make it an excuse to finally visit Austria. To distribute his ashes somewhere in the country of Mozart and the Hefners. I'll have to give it some thought.
