It is 5:24 AM, I should have been in bed five hours ago, but it's worth it. After three hours of final revisions and two hours of printing, my novel manuscript is finally printed out and ready to send to the agent.

Except... it's too big to fit into the envelope.

Oh god, I'm becoming Paul Giamatti from Sideways, I just knew it would happen.

I will sleep now. And then I will take out my crankiness on the US Postal System in the morning. After that, I will go to my new second job at Potomac Video. The pay is lame, but hey, free rentals, so yay.

On the plus side, I spent these last few hours watching an excellent documentary on the lives of B-movie horror actresses. I now have a huge crush on Debbie Rochon. That is all.

I now sleep for what little good it will do me.

That's so cool! Congratulations! What exciting stuff. I love that huge ginormous feeling of achievement when you at last get to lay aside the pen / typewriter and pronounce a work done. Or more accurately (at least in my case), scream childishly, "I'm not gonna work on you anymore, you stupid perpetually unfinished manuscript! Go cry to a publisher for all I care! Waa!"

Actually, I don't think I've ever had one that with a manuscript. But if I had, maybe writing would just be that much more fun for me.

In any case, congrats again. That's something to be proud of.

Huge congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I can't wait to read it. I just finished my friends book about his experiences in Haiti...and I read Jaki's book a little while back. 2 completely different subjects, but both awesome because I could hear my friend's voices in them. What's yours about...or is that secret still?

Oh yeah, mine really just screams John Hefner in voice. Hopefully that'll be a good thing. The book, very simply put, is a thriller about a naive and idealistic young writer who shadows the police for story research and discovers way more than he bargained for.

... I will definitely hire someone to write a better synopsis.

"Something to Scream About." It's quite awesome. I never knew Julie Strain and Denise Duff were so damn cool.
