Mom and I are gonna drive up to Philly this weekend to see I AM MY OWN WIFE at Wilma, because the play is one of my dream roles and it stars Floyd King, my favorite DC actor and VIGIL star. If anyone here has got Wilma connections, I'd greatly appreciate 'em.

Because that may yet help the pain. The pain of being dead. That, or brains.

Went to the bank and found out that the $928.00 I put into the bank yesterday won't be counted until midnight tonight. So who knows what other charges I have have incurred in the 34 hours since the big deposit. Will it even be enough?

My father is currently furious at the bank. I'm too guilty and humbled to bring myself to his anger at the bank's not calling me up, at them just sending letters while I racked up more and more and more. He says he's never been fucked over as much by any bank as much as they're fucking me over. Unfortunately, from what I can tell from the print-out, they technically have me by the balls. While what they're doing may not be "ethical" or whatever, they can always put the blame back on me for not following my finances more closely.

I shall sleep soon and begin working off my debt to my boss tomorrow.

Next time...

John, next time some bank, or especially this bank fucks you over like this... FUCK'EM!

Take your money elsewhere and leave them in the hole. It really sounds like they fucked you hard. Banks do that to people. Especially poor people. Simply becuase they can. It's how they make money from accounts of the poor. And the rich they treat like kings,

You can make another bank account in 30 minutes with another bank. If they use you, use them back.

I found an itneresting quote from my Greek History study just this past weeK: 'The strong do what they want. The weak accept what they must.'

I hope that you won't let this happen again. But if you do and you are not in a point of strength then be clever and use guile.

Good luck.

Not quite sure what I could have or could still do in this case other than switch to another bank.

unfortunately, if you leave the bank with a negative balance, (especially one this high) and go to another bank, they will report to the credit bureaus and you could end up with a stain on your credit report. so you should definitely do whatever you can to clean things up with this bank before closing your account and moving elsewhere.

let them know when you leave that this is the reason you are doing so and what THEY should have done (um, not let you use your debit card when you were already overdrawn) to prevent a lot of this.

hugs, it'll get better soon, promise...

If you think you can manage it responsibly, you might consider getting a credit card. Your limit on the card is higher than your bank balance, so you don't have to worry about it except at the end of the month. You don't have to follow it nearly as closely as a nearly-empty bank account.

If you're smart and responsible and pay it off every month and don't spend more than you have, it's basically free. And if you do spend more than you have, as long as you cover the minimum you don't get hit by these egregious fees. You get a loan, at bad interest, but it's still better than paying $50 per transaction over the limit.

If you don't think you can be responsible you should avoid it because it's an easy way to get into deep, deep, deep trouble (pick nearly any random Rude and they'll tell you how much trouble) but it can be very helpful.

Poor poor Heffie. Your cheer-up movie night at my house tomorrow is a go. Bring your choice of movies, preferably just two because my mom gets antsy about time.

Haha, what you just said there is perfect. You see, here's the thing- Sci Fi channel is airing Return of the Living Dead parts 2 and 3 back to back tomorrow starting at 7. Cool, yes, buuuuut bear in mind they will be edited for TV and be chock fulla commercials. Personally, I think I could hold out till they hit DVD, but what do you think? I have a couple movies I sooo wanna show you anyway.
