You know, I really was spoiled getting the job at the comic store. Because working at the video store? There's nothing quite like six hours of being on my feet, reshelving under florescent lights, dealing pornos and kids videos (both sticky and non varieties), and serving customers who have decided, of their own free will, to spend good money to rent the Full-Screen version of Van Helsing and not being able to say a damn thing about it, to leave me a bitter, tired, headachy, sarcastic, drained lump at the end of the day. All for six bucks an hour, whoop-de-fuck. Oh, and no reading in the store, cuz big brother is watching you.

I could really go for that literary agent calling me up right about now to tell me she wants to sell my book. That'd be really sweet right about now. That, or maybe sex. Actual sex, the kind that ends well and is supposedly supposed to make people happy afterwards. I'd kinda like that sometime, y'know?

I nap now and will try to regain the shreds of my good nature in time for tonight's rehearsal.

That is sorely tempting. Stupid lack of money and free time. I was totally plotting a cross-country looping road trip a few months back and visiting you was one of the possibilities. Stupid everything.

sex doesnt make people happy in and of itself. it temporarily satisfies an emotional and physcial drive in people, causing them to feel a sense of satisfaction. that can easily give way to feeling even more lonely, disconnected and unfulfilled when that passes.

take it from someone who knows far more than he ever should have, and now has to live it down.
