Happy Day of the Dead!
Nov. 1st, 2005 05:33 pmBub wishes everyone HAPPY DAY OF THE DEAD!!! Be sure to call your Aunt Alicia and tell her you love her! Do it, or my Bub will shoot!

Of course, it's fitting that today they announced a new director for the... god help us... DAY OF THE DEAD remake.
Remakes make Bub cry.

It'll be Steve Miner, director of Friday the 13th, a couple Halloweens, Lake Placid, etc. Now on one hand, it's really interesting and kinda cool that instead of yet another music video director we actually have a real horror movie director. On the other hand, he's kind of a shitty horror director who isn't fit to lick the shit off of Romero's boots. And on the other other hand, there's no word as to if the DOTD remake is going to have anything at all to do with the original.
As far as I'm concerned, no Bub, no can do. Only if Bub's in it would I care. But who could possibly play him? Howard Sherman, of course, but who else? Well, there are two possible choices as far as I'm concerned. Simon Pegg, "Shaun of the Dead" himself, did a wonderful Bub impression in LAND OF THE DEAD:

But really, when you get right down to it, there's only one person who could do Bub justice and yet still make it wholly his own:

Ron motherfuckin' Perlman, baby. Just look at him! You wouldn't even need makeup.
Anyway, just wanted to throw that out there before it got too much later.
