World-Eater-Off!!!
Nov. 26th, 2005 06:24 pmOk, since Dave's put it in my head and because I am bored, I now bring the battle here. Consider it kinda like my version of WWYD (Who Would You Do?) except with more killing and world-devouring. These two are both god-like beings that devour entire worlds for sustenance (as well as children, in one's case). One is aloof and seeks only to placate his endless hunger, while the other lives to instill terror in the innocent... yummy, delicious terror. Yet that big buffet table we call the Universe is big enough for only one hungry, hungry interdimensional world-eater! What say you fellows, in the title bout between...
On one hand, we have Galactus (click here for Wilkipedia entry), the Marvel Comics' Devourer of Worlds who beat the Fantastic Four and was only halted from eating Earth by that accursed Reed Richards threatening to wipe out all of existence (does his arrogance know no bounds?).

On the other, we have the nameless It (click here for Wilkipedia entry), an eternal entity that thrives on terror and warm kiddie flesh. Its true form is that of a huge spider with glowing "deadlights":

But It usually can be seen in the far scarier (IMO) guise of Pennywise the Clown, here played by Tim Curry.

The movie may have blown, but that was still inspired casting.
So what say you fellows?
