It's not you. It's me.
Dec. 5th, 2005 11:11 amAs with my last girlfriend, the video store and I decided that it just wasn't working out. The job at the comic store may not always be there for me as often as I'd want it to, but it's far better paying and far more pleasant. Between working there and evenings with the Rudes, I didn't have much time in my schedule for the video store. And as with my last girlfriend, I really didn't want it to work out. I fucking hated that job. Little over five bucks an hour plus free movies ain't worth it. Yet it was still something, right? So I didn't have the guts to get the hell out. Who was I to do that, when everybody has jobs they hate?
So as with my last girlfriend, I let the other party do the hard part. And y'know what? It kinda sucks. Isn't that crazy? It's what I wanted and what I feel is best for everyone concerned, and it still kinda sucks. Still makes me feel I'm a bit of a failure. So weird. It probably doesn't help that I haven't eaten anything yet.
But the video store and I parted on good terms, and they said if my schedule ever opened up more they'd welcome me back. But no more free videos, which is fine, since I don't really have time to watch them anyway.
But even the comic shop's salary of $200 a week isn't giving me much to fall back on, to say the least. I better get that resume polished, by which I mean, actually written.
