Darren McGavin (A Christmas Story, Billy Madison) also died. We lost two great men this weekend. I've loved Don Knotts ever since I saw him on the Scooby Doo Movies. "Rit's Ron Rotts!"

I know. I knew him mainly as the star of Kolchak: The Night Stalker, a show that was a huge influence on The X-Files and is well known in the annals of TV genre geekdom. He was a cult icon for that.
