So Bloo's train was delayed six hours. Poop. Poor girl. Well, at least this keeps my day free to get groceries for my Dad, sign up for the Actor's Center, get 70 headshots at Kinko's, and maybe even work out for the first time in a week and a half.

So apparently Sean Bean is set to play the title role in the remake of THE HITCHER, a horror classic that I kinda enjoy in theory and principle rather than in practice. A good choice. Hell, a fucking brilliant choice, even. But he's no Rutger Hauer. I just don't know if he can out-OMGWTFBBQ Hauer's ca-rayzy-ass performance.

Still, if he does, we'll always have BLADE RUNNER. Getting rereleased to theatres, no less. With Ridley Scott's final, true vision of the film. Hopefully we won't get shit like CGI dewbacks, Roy shooting first, or digitally editing out Edward James Olmos' acne scars.

Meanwhile, aintitcool.com posted a review of one of my least anticipated movies of the year, THE BREAK-UP:

"Well, I come bearing very mixed news. First, the good news. The Break Up is a fantastic film of wonderful clarity, depth, insight and honest to god character driven comedy. The bad news? You’re probably gonna hate it. No seriously. A lot of people are gonna hate the living shit out of this movie.
But before I get into any of that, there’s one thing I need to say that answers the question on many of your minds. No. This is NOTHING like Wedding Crashers. Not a bit of it. This is by no means a Hollywood romantic comedy. It’s something very, very different, which will excite film fans and indie lovers, but may upset or even anger the general public who will plop down 8 bucks thinking that they’re walking into a zany summer comedy. Because this movie is anything but zany."

Read the rest of the rather interesting review here. God help me, now I'm intrigued.

I'd heard that, and I'll be interested to see what you think. I'm sure Sean will impress you...he knows he's not Rutger Hauer, so I bet he'll do something different with it rather than run the risk of doing a poor impersonation.

Hope Bloo gets there OK!

Dammit, I just had to read that review. Now you've opened up Pandora's Box for me. I can tolerate Aniston...I'm on the fence with Vaughn, leaning toward the positive...I love John Michael Higgins, who wasn't even mentioned in the review...looking at Jon Favreau sort of depresses me...

Ah, what the hell, I'll probably see it sooner or later. Good to know it's not nearly as annoying as the trailers made it look.
