Well, looks like I'm out $110.00. So I felt like overly stressed crap (if crap could feel stress) for a little while there.

But then I did some DDR, and then sat outside in the torrential downpour for a few minutes, then came inside, dried off, and made myself a hot and gooey grilled cheese sammitch with tomato soup. All this and the season premiere of VENTURE BROTHERS in about fifteen minutes.

So I'm doing better.

I'm glad you're doing better! You shouldn't have to pay for the switch, but it's better you get the score you deserve than get less grad-school funding with a lower one. I'm sure you'll get the right school*, so at this point a lot of it is probably about securing scholarships, right?

*Provided you've been working on your essay, yes? (Insert teacherly, I better hear a yes answer, face here!)

By working, I am "trying to think of what the hell I could possibly say since I haven't anything really imaginative coming to me so maybe I'd better get up the guts to sit down and write it with the hopes that something will come to me but not juuuuust yet."

Any suggestions?

As for securing scholarships, I haven't given much thought beyond the fact that, since my father worked at Catholic U as head of the music department for 36 years, I get half tuition.

Oh, actually I do have an idea. Talk about your life in theatre and your quest to become the best actor you can as if writing out the book to a comic book hero's life! Not the whole essay, just mention how your work with graphic novels has lead to to view your desire to be the best actor you can as a quest with KUNG! POW! Setbacks! and ZOINKS! HOORAY! Brilliant moments.

(Or not, my brain is weird at this time in the morning.)

I think they enjoy creative takes on things. I got accepted early decision to Boston U based on an essay I wrote about writing imaginary conversations with Basil Rathbone. Mmmm... The Bas!

Hmm, ok, that actually could be fun! If I can make it work. Hrmmm. Well, it's certainly more of a solid idea than what I have now!

Basil Rathbone rules. He could totally have skewered Tyrone Power in real life. That sounds awesome.

Okay, a) that icon looks debauched. Debauched by a sandwich. b) cleansing your pores is an excellent way to deal with stress. c) It sucks that you have to pay more, but that does not prevent me from wishing yu luck for when you take the test: Good Luck!

On the bright side...vacation! Thursday!

Well, technically Friday, but you are spending the night Thursday, yes?

So, Thursday! Whee!

Oh, hey, I just left a guilt-ridden message on your machine, so call/IM/whatever me when you get the chance. Not cancelling, just throwing a monkey wrench into the proceedings because I suck immensely.
