So the HORRORFIND convention is this weekend.

I'm gonna go up Friday and try to get there by opening at 5:00pm and hope--pray, even-- that I will be able to meet George A. Romero then. If I don't, I'll have to find a cheap motel somewhere in the area and then get an early start Saturday, then leave by 1:00 so I can get back to Silver Spring for rehearsal.

I am gonna bite the bullet and ask for his blessing for BUB AND JOHNNY GO. I'm gonna do it. I'm gonna emphasize that it's totally not for profit (a wealthy self-publishing comic book creator... HA! *Actors* make better money and have better job security, seriously), that it is completely a labor of love, and a love letter to his character, but also totally outside of his stories. I'm also clearly gonna need to work on a better "pitch," for lack of a better word.

Also, I can show Howard Sherman, "Bub" himself! Too bad I'll have this crappy goatee, otherwise I could totally get more Bub and Johnny photos!

I've got to do this. If only to throw it back in the face of the (very few) naysayers who think it's little more than fanfiction and a stupid idea to show it to him and "don't get your hopes up," blah blah blah. For its little faults, this project means a lot to me. It's one of the few truly happy places I have.

Anybody live in the area of Hunt Valley, MD? It's a long shot. Guh, hopefully I'll be able to find a nearby motel or someplace.

Man, that is too bad. You're right, what a time that would be.

Unless I manage a reconciliation with cousin Hugh (not bloody likely), I don't think I'll be making it out to LA. I've been encouraged in the past (by nagging Mother, mainly) for acting and whatnot, but I dunno.

Ah, you are wise. As the great King Arthur once said "On second thought, let's not go to Camelot. It is a silly place."

Indeed. If I didn't like the job opportunities I'd have been gone a long time ago.

Heh heh heh! Yeah, at least in DC, there's a huge theatre scene (I think we've surpassed Chicago!) but it's not a mecca, so there's better chances for work.

Also, I've seen LA STORY. It's my favorite Steve Martin film, but still, hrmmm. I've heard tell is so accurate to life in LA, it's not funny.

The accuracy. Oh, the accuracy.

I'll have a twist of lemon.
