I'm not gonna go into the whole story, much as I want to. I still have to pack and have to be up early tomorrow to shop for Dad, pick up my car, and audition for Woolly Mammoth, then go straight to the airport. Busy ass day, for certain. So for now, I'll just say this:

Fuck. Yes.

Everything-- my timing, my flow, the words, the energy, the audience, my god, this was one of the best audiences I've ever seen, the positive energy was intoxicating-- was perfect. I completely, totally fucking pulled it off, and I was absolutely terrified beforehand. It all came together just as I stepped onstage and took the mic. The house was absolutely packed, and a dozen or so people afterwards came up to me to tell me how good it was, how great my energy was, really this is your FIRST time, no way, you gotta come back, etc. And I will. Next month, I will totally be there, cannot wait.

This was exactly what I needed after class at Studio yesterday. What a contrast. Man, now I really do just wish someone was there to film it. I'm not so sure I can really do Hefner Monologues on my webcam like I had originally thought; really, I need an audience with these stories. The better the audience, the better my telling will be.

I probably won't be able to read much or any of these comments for awhile, as you can tell I'll be busy as hell. Mayhap I'll swing by an internet cafe in London. I'll be back in town next Monday. See y'all later!

Thankee! Although I may not see A&C after all... Stewart's not in it anymore, and my London contact said it blew. I think I'd rather have my first experience with the play be yours, in that case.

Funny; it's nearly as ill-fated a play as The Scottish Play, for the number of renditions that don't work for one reason or another. I heard the one they did a few years ago with Alan Rickman and Helen Mirren wasn't great, either, in spite of the presence of two leads who could really blow those roles out of the water.
