this is potentially awesome.. i'm not sure i can think of a better person to play the role.

the question is - can Downey, as a drug addict, handle the stretch of playing a drunk?


and downey should beef up a bit, yes, but its not as necessary as if he was playing, say.. captain america.

Interesting thing, though, they're not gonna focus on the alcoholism until the sequel. This is purely the origin, from what I understand. So it's a bit ironic (?) in that way to have Downey.

Y'mean a drunk? Funny thing is, they're not even going to get into the alcoholism till the sequel. And hey, if you wanna see "takes one to play one," you should see both Downey and Woody Harrelson in A SCANNER DARKLY.
