Ok, so I was resisting posting about this all day. Partially, because I feared no one would understand what the hell I'm talking about. And partially because I didn't want to spoil anything. I'm not so sure I really *can* avoid spoiling anything since this has actually made national news (!), but now an idea has come up that's so good, it simply has to be done.

Rude Mechanicals, those involved in FAUSTUS (especially jcsbimp, and those not afraid of comic spoilers, read ahead.



So Captain America is dead. Killed by a sniper's bullet. Sure, that's the big news, right?

What they don't tell you is that it wasn't just the sniper (Crossbones)'s bullet. Cap was also shot in the gut several times by his on-again off-again love, Sharon Carter. Only Sharon didn't realize this, since she was brainwashed ala what Bester did to Garibaldi in BABYLON 5.

And who, working with none other than the Red Skull himself, did the brainwashing job on Sharon and implant the suggestion to kill America's Greatest Hero?

Doctor Faustus.

Seriously.

As feyandstrange remarked, "I KILLED CAPTAIN AMERICA needs to be a T-shirt, quick, so you can wear it to rehearsals before any resurrections."
