trailer trash
Jun. 26th, 2007 12:11 pmThe trailer for Paul Thomas Anderson's THERE WILL BE BLOOD, based on Upton "Wanna know how your meat is packed? No you don't." Sinclair's novel OIL!, has arrived
Now, some of you recall my all-encompassing fiery hatred of PUNCH-DRUNK LOVE, which overshadowed any good feelings I had toward BOOGIE NIGHTS and MAGNOLIA. Yet look who's in it:
Daniel Day-Lewis, reunited with his mighty mustache! That proves it, Bill the Butcher faked his death and, realizing that his old tribal warfare ways were passe, became an evil oil baron instead! Makes perfect sense!
RESCUE DAWN may sound like the title of some crappy 80's action movie, but take a look at the trailer:
Christian Bale? Hm, always solid.
Steve Zahn? Finally in a movie that could give him a chance to live up to his dramatic potential? Intriguing!
WERNER HERZOG? Holy crap, I'm there.
He based it around his own documentary, LITTLE DIETER NEEDS TO FLY, which I've now thrown at the top of my Netflix queue, alongside ARMY OF SHADOWS for
adaptor and FISHING WITH JOHN for

Man, my favourite thing about Christian Bale is the accents. You just know he does a great Herzog impression.
"Fishing with John" is gonna make you smile so hard.

Date: 2007-06-27 04:31 am (UTC)Is there a good Werner Herzog movie to start off with? I've known of his work for years but never really seen any of it, aside from a bit of Grizzly Man and his remake of Nosferatu.
