THE BOONDOCKS season 2 premiere is live on AdultSwim.com.

Sheer brilliance. My favorite show that I'm not allowed to quote is back.

Meanwhile, FRISKY DINGO continues to astound and delight, METALOCALYPSE is still grand but so far lacking in some of Season 1's outright magnificence, LUCY: DAUGHTER OF THE DEVIL increasingly beguiles me with its HOME MOVIES/H. Jon Benjamin goodness, and this was the funniest ROBOT CHICKEN in many a moon.

Now bring back VENTURE BROS, and we'll be solid.

Is it just me, or has Grandpa lost it over the hiatus? I don't seem to remember him being quite so floridly insane last season.

This week's Metalocalypse was kind of lame--they wasted all kinds of time on that scientist gag, and not nearly enough time on things that were actually funny. Also my DVDs have to go back to the store because one is fucked up, so I'm not inclined to look favorably on it this week anyway. Rar. Frisky Dingo, though...

I think SOUL PLANE 2 just has that effect on some people.

That's what I'm saying, it really was rather lame, and last week's wasn't bad or even mediocre... but still, at least they're clearly building up to something. As my friend Mike reminded me, we're approaching the fourth episode. The fourth episode last season was Dethtroll, the episode which sealed the show's excellence from there on out. Hopefully the Episode 4 magic will be worked again.

But yeah, they really wasted far too much time on the scientists. Haven't they finally learned from Adult Swim that awkward anti-humor has been beaten into the ground, thanks?

What about Frisky Dingo? Some of my friends don't understand the appeal, so sometimes I feel like Mike and I are the only ones loving the hell out of it.

FD is getting progressively more wonderful, though they are getting to the point where the callbacks are getting a bit more obscure. (I forgot who Cody was until this week, f'rinstance.) Still, it has Ronnie in it! RONNIE!

Say, you coming down for SPX? Looks like I'm working both days, and will only actually be there for a couple of hours Friday. But I'll be free in the evening if you wanna hang, or give me free stuff to give away at ye olde comic shop.

Also, I can give you your Buddy and SNOW!

I don't have any free stuff right now, but I should be down a good chunk of the time on Saturday--we can hang out afterward unless I decide to mooch stardom off Dean Trippe (I probably will be doing that). We should do something, though I'm afraid I'll be pretty disappointing in real life.

So dull.

Heh, I usually mooch stardom off of John Gallagher (who gave me my first and so far only published comics work, when I was seventeen) and Batton Lash.

though I'm afraid I'll be pretty disappointing in real life.

Okay, I'll lower my expectations accordingly. Keep me posted! Maybe I should send you my cell number via the e-mail.

So my boyfriend got me the entire first season of Frisky Dingo. I've yet to get more than four episodes in. It's kinda...boring? I don't know, it just drags sometimes, okay?

However, I saw Ravenous last night! Creepy, creepy Robert Carlyle, I heart him so.

Well, all I can say is stick with it. Grow to know the characters. I think it progressively improves. It's one of the few cartoons to have actual character development!

I mean, you have the entire first season, ya might as well!

And if at the end, you still don't care for it... uh... well... I'll buy it off you. Or something.

Yay for RAVENOUS!
