I'm very pleased to announce that I have two more upcoming gigs for THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES!

Friday, November 30th at Norman James Theatre, Washington College, Chestertown MD.

--And--

Monday, December 10th, and Tuesday, December 11th at Hamilton Arts Center in Baltimore, MD.

Huge thanks to my wonderful producers at Zero Hour ([livejournal.com profile] ortugatay and [livejournal.com profile] fishymcb particularly, but let me know if anyone else did major legwork here) for making all this happen.

I'm not sure what crowds to expect, particularly in the Baltimore gig, so if you're able to make it out either night, please please please do! It's kind of a dead season for theatre in December, but with proper promotion, that might just work in my favor (less competition and all).

So yeah, if you missed THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES at CapFringe this year, here's your chance to catch 'em again! In revised, improved format!

DC 101 played Oingo Boingo's "Dead Man's Party." I don't think I've ever heard Oingo Boingo on the radio before, and it was such a wonderful surprise. How is this band not popular? Short of the Beatles, I can't think of a single other band that has music for virtually any mood, any occasion. Just name a mood or style, and I'll give you an Oingo Boingo song that matches it!

So yeah, that was my highlight of the day. Which means it's all downhill from here. Because it's Wednesday, New Comics Day, and I'm at work. I haven't sat down once all day, the store is constantly packed, I'm working alone, and I have to poop like a motherfucker. HELP.

TMI!

T.
M.
I!

I'd come help, but I can't work in a comics store, because I'd start pulling crappy issues of Countdown out of people's hands and replacing them with issues of Moon Knight or 100 Bullets or something. Then I'd openly mock people who pretend to be experts on Spidey and try to defend Straczynski's work.

You're lucky you're not friends with [livejournal.com profile] theblackotter. Poop and farts are mentioned in his every other entry.

And if you think that's TMI, you won't want to read the Hefner Monologues I'm going to write about my brother. He's poo-obsessed, and is considering doing a coffee table art book on the subject, once he's completed his massive mosaic of Herakles.

Oh my god, did you seen ESSENTIAL MOON KNIGHT vol. 2?! The art's even BETTER in black and white!

Yes, I did, sir. Although I still prefer the color art, but MAN is that good stuff.

I'll be sure to never friend [livejournal.com profile] theblackotter.

As for your brother...from Herakles to poo? Surely there's some epic meta statement there that should probably be best written by Cathy Acker or someone similar. Jesus.

And there you go! Good work!

Yes, but with MORE METAPHOR!

Needs more metaphor. I'm just sayin'.

...

And in completely random other news, I have just read the sneak peek full issue of next week's ANNIHILATION CONQUEST # 1. In keeping the scatological themes, I think I no longer need to go to the bathroom, for I have now pooped my pants from the sheer awesome twist.

I cannot WAIT to hear your reaction to this. Wow.

I don't think I've ever heard Oingo Boingo on the radio before

Bizarrely enough, I hear 'Dead Man's Party' in particular on the "oldies" (60's-80's) radio station all the time, but it's only been within the last few months. I'm always shocked when I do hear it since I never thought Oingo Boingo had any, y'know, "top ten" hits. :P

Well, until I write my own Oingo Boingo in a comic store one-man musical.

Say, if you're still interested in the Harvey Dent novel, drop me your e-mail sometime. I'm hoping to have a completed draft I'm satisfied with within the month. I'm planning on editing and revising it for at least a year or two before I can consider it "done," but I'd like your input in the meantime, especially since you generously offered. :)

Orrrrrrr, on second thought, I can just get your e-mail from your LJ profile. Which is what I'll do when the time is right. Thankya! :)
