thehefner: (Oh NOES)

So apparently there's a meme going where you draw yourself as a teenager, as I learned from the great and powerful [livejournal.com profile] little_dinosaur, who in turn strongly urged me to waste precious time (that should be spent on the new script) drawing one of my own.

So here it is, uninked, pencil-smudged, and scrawled with my terrible, terrible handwriting. If any part is unclear, let me know and I'll translate my chickenscratch.

I hope you're pleased, Sam.

I am!

You wore combat boots? Somehow, does not compute.

I am unpredictable that way. Or sadly predictable that way, depending on how you look at it.

They were way too long on me, to accomodate for my wide feet. They were like clown shoes. We were going for modern soldier fatigues for HENRY VI, thus this was what we all wore, but for some reason I dug them. The BDU pockets were so damn spacious. It might also be worth noting that I did not wear jeans at any point between elementary school and senior year of college.

Did...did you bring the lantern to school?

This looks like a fun meme, I'll have to try this myself!

It... happened once or twice.

DOO EET.

I would have probably worn the ring (or rather, whatever the equivalent would have been from one of the anime series I liked at the time, so a rose ring from Revolutionary Girl Utena or something*) but the lantern?

But yes, I'll have to give this a go! The drawing shouldn't be too hard, but if I want to scan it this weekend I'll have an unfamiliar scanner and a Mac to contend with. But it might be better than trying my luck with my own crappy scanner...

*Okay, the only reason I didn't one of the duelist rings was because the official ones were hard to find and cost at least fifty bucks a pop. So instead I bought a ring at the Scottish games with a celtic design that had a similar shape that if you squinted just right... looked nothing like the rings seen in the series. But I could pretend!

The damn battery cost two hundred and fifty fucking dollars, man! I had to show it off to someone other than my mother! I didn't even have a best friend back then, much less fellow comic readers.

Because I still harbor a deep-seated, festering grudge against all those who wronged and ignored me, shunting me aside... but they shall pay. I shall show them. Oh yes, the fools, I shall show them ALL!

I just need to find a group of Tibetan monks to worship me and forge my mighty suit of terrible armor. Well, either monks or a girlfriend. Whichever comes first.

*hums I don't like Mondays*

from what shall they forge your terrible armour? Plaid polyester? I can't imagine anything more terrible than that...

"I Don't Like Mondays?"

Bah, not plaid! Think you that HEF is some base salesman of used cars?! Even a megalomaniacal supervillain has standards!

Far superior. Especially for the inevitable zombie apocalypse, as I can move around and it's bite-resistant. Plus, it's far more befitting one of my regal status. *swooshes cape*

ok you inspired me and I drew myself... warning: NOT an artist and can't draw my own face for toffee... though I based it off this ancient photo: http://i19.photobucket.com/albums/b187/starletharlot/elise1999.jpg

Tiger-print pants AND "fuck-me" boots! Haha, my immediate reaction:

My god, they had a Joker plushie? Oh god, they did, didn't they? That's just gloriously wrong.

LOL. I had this whole trailer trash thing going on, and I only ever wore red and black (the obsession was fierce)

Yes and I still have him. And I've got a huge - I think about 20inch - Joker doll who still sleeps next to me. My cat has to fight with him over who gets closest to me XD

Man. Well, as indicated by the above picture, my own wardrobe was often coordinated around green and black. Frankly, I'm amazed I didn't cut all my clothes in half and sewn the parts together. Wow, now I kind of wish I had!

Aw, you and your stuffed little psychotic mass murderer thing of nightmares and madness. How adorable.

Oh you. Never change.

never too much! what is fandom for, if not self-indulgence?

my boyfriend at the time... I didn't want to be with him anymore but he'd bought me tis very expensive Joker statue for my birthday so I was trying to hold out until then to break up with him (I was a heartless teenager don't forget!) anyway I didn't last. But I got the statue anyway. <3

I think I do still have my old Two-Face costume, made from two shabby thrift store suits my mother stitched together for me. My stepfather once accidentally wore my white/pink split button-up shirt (he's a small man, it fit him), just grabbing it out of his closet (must have been put there accidentally) blindly and wearing it to work. He wore it all day, not even noticing until we pointed it out.

Oh ouch! Maybe I truly was spared, being a dateless virgin geek until Junior year in college.

COOL! AND LOL to your stepdad ahahahha. Didn't anyone at work notice? Yeesh!

you probably were. Teenage girls are pretty ruthless, esp when we want something... hrm. Then again, I fluttered my lashes to get my current boyfriend to buy me the Harley marionette this year, so maybe it's better to learn some lessons young XD

If they noticed, I think they just assumed he knew what he was doing.

Well, it was gonna happen anyway. At least I was already two years into college rather than a teenage. Eh, getting my heart utterly crushed was a good experience. I got a one-man show out of the experience and everything. Getting it crushed the next three times, I could have done without.

Wow, I think you're the kind of girl my mother always warned me about.

he's wearing one half of two different shirts... maybe it's a new 'power suit' look...

ah yes, the burnings. but it evens out. I haven't really counted but I think I've been broken hearted around the same number of times I've broken hearts. I've certainly atoned for my moments of ruthlessness. And I have a lot of cool stuff as payoff anyway.

as to your mother's warning, why, I'm hardly qualified to say yay or nay. :)

and I'm loving some of these caricatures of people's teen years! :D

Well, if Harvey really does wear the split suit in the film (as it looks in that split second part of the trailer; not sure how I feel about that) maybe it'll become the hot new look. Assuming purple gloves don't sweep the fashion scene first.

They really are delightful, aren't they? And we can all laugh, because none of us are in any positions to judge.
