Dear god. I actually devoted an hour last night to editing the Wikipedia entries for Two-Face* and Gilda Dent. DOES MY DORKITUDE KNOW NO BOUNDS?!

I mean, come on! Both were seriously leaning towards THE LONG HALLOWEEN as the one and only gospel of Harvey Dent. Something needed to be done! At least I stopped before I went to tear down the "Vernon Fields" entry page. Grrrrrr.

Honestly, a major reason I'd want my Harvey Dent novel to become canon is simply for what I'm doing with Gilda. The poor woman's been a supporting character for a supporting character, and a female one at that, which means not getting a lot of depth nor development over the years other than being either a crying foil or a family-crazed murderer. With the help of Bloo and [livejournal.com profile] little_dinosaur, I've actually fleshed Gilda out into the character who really is the secret weapon of the book, the success or failure of which really does ride on her.

If the book sees the light of day, then I will personally go and revise her Wikipedia entry with pride. Oh god, I'm such a dork.

*In google-searching Two-Face, google image popped up and I CAUGHT A GLIMPSE OF THE LEAKED PICTURE OF AARON ECKHART AS TWO-FACE! FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK! Thankfully, it was just a thumbnail and just a glimpse, as I scrambled to avoid it. I didn't get to see any details (what I saw was pretty much what I was expecting anyway), and really, seeing it in motion will be worlds of difference from a bit of concept art.

Nonetheless, FUCK YOU, INTERNET.

Dude, you're doing a public service. Think of the children.

Yes, and just think, a hundred years from now, they'll remember all the great Two-Face writers over the years... Bill Finger, Andrew Helfer, Paul Dini, JohnnyGo1983!

That's why it's called 'service'- you don't actually get shit back for it, you just make others' lives better.

For all you know, Paul Dini is editing Wikipedia too.

And to fuel my own obsessive passion in a fictional character. It's win-win! Until somebody dares edit it again, and incorrectly... grr...

God, I'd love to think that. I'd totally trust Paul Dini to edit all Batman-related Wikipedia entries.

"DOES MY DORKITUDE KNOW NO BOUNDS?!"

Not until you deliberately leave one glitch on the page so you can root out people who get all their info from Wikipedia.

:cough: Not that I do that or anything.

Now I must ask, why would you do that? Or better yet, what practical applications does such a scheme have?

It's for when you bump into someone on-line who behaves all know-it-all but you can tell has Wiki up in another window and is just copying and pasting.

Also, since when did evil need justification? It's an 'its own reward' sort of deal. :-)

It appears to be friends only. Should I friend?

How bizarre - I am not a friend on/to that LJ, and the link opens when I click...

Hmm, okay, I didn't scroll down enough. The entries ARE open after all, but it's still listed as a friends-only journal. Hrm. Maybe that's if you want to comment...?
