Okay, so that minor surgery turned out to be less minor. Or at least more than I was expecting. In the grand hope of repairing my deviated septum and being able to do little things like breathe and taste food normally for the first time in years, I must spent a period of time feeling like oh holy crap.

I'm better than I was post-op, for those first five or so hours... but yeah, perhaps to sweeten the joy of smells and tastes that await me, I must spend the next few days as a mouth-breather. Unable to breathe through--much much less blow--my nose. I've got a splint in there now, so I just gotta let the magic work as I train myself to inhale and exhale through my mouth, and change the gauze strapped under my nose every hour or two. I know it's time to change when I start looking like a bloody Hitler.

To pass the time, I tried to watch BAD LIEUTENANT on Comcast On Demand, then gave up when I realized that it had to be the R-rated version. I've never seen it before, but for a movie with that rep, what's the point if you don't see it right? I demand depravity! I demand my Harvey Kietel wang!

I then attempted to watch THE PRISONER box set, but once I realized I was conking out just the the weird bubble thing finally appeared, I knew it would have to wait. Maybe I'll give it another go tonight, or else go straight to LOST Season One.

Oh man, I hope that heals up this instant. But not before you get to watch some of your shows. I'm having my third stab at "Twin Peaks" here in the middle of nowhere. I finally own it myself, so I'll actually be able to watch it all the way through!

You go, girl! I hope you make it, and look forward to your thoughts! Wow, how perfect, and just as I saw this:

Maybe at some point I'll take a stab at your letter. I started my responses yesterday!

Now that... is a thing of beauty. Gotta love it when Sesame Street goes all crazy pop culture and downright odd.

And here's hoping for quick healing on the nasal front. Breathing is overrated... leads to death. I mean think about it... everyone who ever died was breathing right before they died. You may be better off not breathing! ;)

Not just pop culture, but they also go high culture!

Oh holy fuck, and look what I just found:

It's true, but you're not seeing the bigger picture, my friend. Don't you know that death is the number one killer in the US today?

OMG! Those Monsterpieice bits are fantastic.

But let's not forget... dead can be sexy

Put on swim fins and put a mask on your head (but not your face) and do method work as a scuba diver. Same thing. :)

scuba. scuba scuba scuba. it's fun to say!

Aye. Just with more blood in the nose and a brain fuzzy on codeine.

I have no idea you liked The Prisoner. You just gained 50 points -- no, OVER 9000!!

Be seeing you.

I like it so far! I'm only fifteen minutes in. I've decided to take this week out of commission to scour the entire series, start to finish. So hold off on those points for now, I'm getting there!

The weirdness-for-the-sake-of-weirdness wears thin after a bit, and it's just as well they ended the series when they did. But they did produce some mighty fine weirdness for a while.

Don't look too hard for anything more. The show was torn in different directions by its star and its director, so it doesn't really come together. But it's perfect mindless entertainment when you need it.

Teh suxxor, dude. I've had friends who had this surgery, some of whom have had great success. (One didn't show much improvement, but that was for migraines.)

Them Bones, Them Bones...

The series finale of The Prisoner is fantastic!

I hope you feel better soon! :-)

Aw, kitten. I just looked up "deviated septum" and I feel very sorry for you now. I'm sending you good vibes and whatnot. And hey, a new world of taste and smell and being able to breathe awaits you! That's gotta be worth the pain.

(Plus, sorry not to reply to your request for spoilers for Six and Nightwing yesterday. My net access is very, *very* limited right now. They're all up on scans_daily by now, but if you want I can still run them down for you?)

Yeah, it ain't fun! I anxiously await the good vibes arriving, once they make it over the pond. Yes, breathing and tasting is very much on the agenda of reasons why this needed to happen. Um, by which I mean, they're the only reasons.

No worries, it's all good. I was just wondering if Harvey did anything else significant in NIGHTWING, and yeah, guess not. But who's the sixth member of Secret Six now? Bane and who else?

Nightwing: Main focus of this issue is obviously on Dick getting patched up by Alfred, which is very moving indeed. There's a bit with Harvey wherein he calls the Carol-woman on her cellphone (Nightwing immediately attaches an anti-tracking device to it).

He asks if she's been taken good care of, needles Nightwing a great deal and says to Carol

"I love you -loved you- and when I heard about the hit I wasn't about to stand by and watch someone I care about get murdered. I had to do whatever I could to get in the way of the hired killers, and if that meant making contact with a suit and asking for a favour, well, we all have to make sacrifices now and again"

The scene then shifts to where Harvey is and shows that he's just assembled two guns. He looks *quite pleased* with himself.

In Secret Six we haven't met the sixth member. No doubt he/she will be just as charmingly psychotic as the other five. It was a damn good comic, and both artist and writer were in fine form.

(Please excuse any typos. I was at a leaving night for a colleague and am currently quite tipsy. Should be in bed, sleeping off vodka, but am still too buzzed)

Ah-ha, so there were more Harvey scenes! I like that description: *quite pleased.* Considering the solicits for the final part of the story provide spoilers for certain events, I'm still not sure how I feel about this depiction in general, but at least it still sounds interesting.

Ag, okay, good. The scans I've seen so far definitely show SECRET SIX to be excellent. Man, I love me some Floyd.

Aha, buzzed, are you? Hmmm, how can I take advantage of that from here?
