If you think the pairing of the Riddler and Zatanna is a bit odd, all I can say is that Paul Dini inspired me with both characters' current neato depictions in DETECTIVE COMICS recently. And besides, they're the only hero/villain pairing who would do battle with jazzhands. You know this to be true.
So yes, ladies and gentlemen. With the generous costume help of

The problem with doing costume shoots like this is that you always come up with fifteen great ideas after the shoot is finished. For example, we realized that we should have had some magical props for Zatanna: some sparkles, stuffed bunnies, roses, even a wand though she never uses wands. And so, bereft of magic and faced with a cunning foe, Zatanna is forced to do like any great performer and improvise.
Namely, beat the crap out of the Riddler with his own cane. It may not be elegant, but it's effective.

Oh, and one more I'd missed the first time around:

That's it for our outerwear. But as with the Joker/Harley shoot, we thought it'd be a good idea to have some alternate inside wear for R&Z. Nothing nearly as NSFW like last time, I assure you. For the sake of you guys, I'll give 'em their own post.
Furthermore, I've been forced to temporarily change the format of my own LJ to this current Hot-Topic-tasting, since the previous setting cut off the larger photos. Laaaame. One of these days, I'm gonna need to figure out how to customize my LJ page with Hefner Monologues pictures and stuff, make it truly worthy of being The Hefner's Blog.

Looking good, very good!

Date: 2008-10-11 07:35 pm (UTC)I'm totally with you on that last photo. I dunno where I could use it, in what capacity, but if nothing else, it's becoming my new facebook profile photo!
Thankya! :)
Wow!
Date: 2008-10-11 07:07 pm (UTC)Angrylemur is a lovely, elegant, Victorian gothic Zantanna.
Very, very impressive.
Again, I recommend making film or Theatre short with these themes. I think it could be powerful, artistic and an excellent show of you many levels of Genius.

Date: 2008-10-11 07:39 pm (UTC)I hear ya, and I'd love to put all these to good use aside from pictures, but damn if I can figure out an effective way. There's no show I can do with these copyrighted characters, and a fanfilm would have to be of excellent quality to really be worthwhile.
Spectacular... as expected.
Date: 2008-10-11 08:28 pm (UTC)The green is spiffy to the extreme.
:)
Re: Spectacular... as expected.
Date: 2008-10-11 09:15 pm (UTC)The funny thing about the green coat is that my Mom bought it for me off eBay on a whim. I don't know what her reasoning was, other than, "Hey, awesome suit, gotta get it for John!" It came with pants that are both striped and pinstriped with about three different shades of green. I immediately balked at the suit, saying it made me look like a leprechaun.
Since then, I've used the ostentatious pants for my Bill the Butcher costume, but had no use for the coat. Until I realized how perfect it would be for Riddler. The pants proved to be too much pattern with the vest, so they're sitting this one out. Otherwise, I'm glad it's finally being put to good use! :)
