Why I love [livejournal.com profile] fiveseconddelay, in two acts.

Act One:

*INTERMISSION*

Act Two:

It never fails to amaze me that people who love XKCD and Perry Bible Fellowship don't care for Red Meat. How very strange. But not as wonderfully strange as FSD.

Perry Bible Fellowship and Red Meat have a mean streak that XKCD lacks. XKCD is usually nerdy in its surrealism, and it's never cruel.

Cruel is kind of a strong word. Would you also call The Far Side cruel? Actually, you could, I suppose, but I'd have thought it as more "black surrealism."

Oh, and going back to the FRIDAY THE 13TH post, you might be interested to know that Jason's crazypants mother is going to be played by Nana Visitor.

Well, Red Meat and PBF frequently allude to torture and other cruelty. I do follow Red Meat, and it usually works for me anyway; the nature of the art keeps one from connecting too closely with it, so the surrealism can work.

The older I get, the less funny I find old Far Side strips.

If she gets naked, I'll go see it.

Red Meat is one of my two favourite online cartoons of all time. The other, if you don't know it check it out forsure, is the now-defunct The Parking Lot is Full. www.plif.com

Amazing.

Never read "Red Meat" but with garfield, just adds the fun of looking for more of this comic.

Probably he's not in all of them, but worth to me to check it out anyway.

Hehe, sadly, no more Garfield cameos, but here's the index of the Bug-Eyed Earl strips:

He's just one of several very twisted characters there. Be sure to check out the evil Milkman Dan too!
