Seriously, intellectually, I agreed with all of you who said he'd be all right, but this was seriously OOC for him. I thought he was dead. Mom thought so too. But no, it's exactly as I was trying to tell myself. He's really fucking dedicating to being a cat.

Right now, I totally sympathize with poor Marc Anthony here at 3:24:

Mark Anthony and Pussyfoot/Cleo cartoons were a lot of fun, but I could never laugh at poor Mark Anthony during that cookie segment.

I love how you called her both Pussyfoot and Cleo. There's contention about her real name (also, it is a she, isn't it?)! I've always gone for Pussyfoot, but Cleo has some wonderful connotations with Mark Anthony, doesn't it?

My father and I must have watched this cartoon a couple dozen times over twenty years, and every single time, we both got choked up during that whole sequence. It's where he puts the cookie on his back that kills me. KILLS me. I've never before or since sobbed while gaping for laughter.

Well, in the cartoon you linked it's referred to as 'he,' but yeah, I always assumed the kitten was female. I tend to go for Cleo, but only because I didn't know the kitten even had a name until reading about it on wiki a few years ago, and, being the Classics nerd that I am, I was totally charmed by 'Mark Anthony and Cleo.'

Poor traumatized Mark Anthony, nothing pulls off 'completely wretched' quite like a cartoon bulldog.
