I finally got a Twin Peaks LJ icon. I'm actually itching to watch the show again, and show it to somebody else, but at least for the next month that seems to be an impossibility.

Memorization for the Fringe Festival show goes slowly, but it's progressing. The director of "Good," Prof. Rubin, is none too pleased about my involvement in that show. It's understandable, really, since he can't rehearse his show without me. Jebus, that thought still boggles my mind. They can't rehearse without me. I'm in every fucking scene. I don't think I'm going to have any semblance of a social life for the next month.

Shit. I hope I'll still be able to make it out to see Hamlet. I'll check with herr direktor to see if I won't have rehearsal on some weekend soon. I can't miss this show. It's an impossibility. And hell, I want to bring peeps like Dave and Val and Misty down to see it too. No, I can't miss this. I just... need to figure out how the hell I'll make it down.

I'm proud of you for listening to The Magnetic Fields, bro. And when is that Hamlet show? I might want to hitch a ride with you.

I have the first season on DVD. Maybe a Twin Peaks party some sunday in the near future?

Think about it.

I own it too, and love it. It'll definitely be worth considering.

I've never seen Twin Peaks, but I hear I have to see the movie 9or one of the movies?) cause my favorite Bowie is in it. So I'd be down with a Twin Peaks something or other sometime.

And the Magnetic Fields, I don't actually know if I've ever heard their music, but my college advisor's niece (I think niece) is in the band and he talked about them all the time...not that he ever heard the music, wasn't his style, but in his senility, he loved to bring it up over and over again. You'll have to play some for me sometime.

You've seen... the movie... without ever having seen the series?

*smacks head really, really hard*

Ok, not only does that movie make even LESS sense without having seen the series, it also gives away THE major spoiler of the series! And Bowie's only in it for one frickin' scene! GAH!

So, yes. See the TV series, please. See if you can't find the pilot episode too, since it's never included with the regular tapes. It's wonderful. And better than the movie, Bowie or no Bowie.

Interesting about the niece being in the band. It's pretty good stuff.

No, I've never scene the movie or show. I just hear I should considering I will sit through anything as long as Bowie's in it. Evidence, The Hunger and Merry Christmas Mr. Lawrence, neither one was particularly my scene, but Bowie is a wonderful sight.

So if you want to watch the show sometime, I'm game...that way I can watch the movie!!!

Ok, whew. Scared me for a bit. 'Cause yeah, I think you might be left totally disturbed and confused as hell by the movie. Bowie's one scene is kinda fun, but makes absolutely no sense.

But yeah, as with El, I'll keep a Twin Peaks party in mind!

I think my only exposure to Lynch has been Lost Highway...if that is any indication, I will probably be confused as hell no matter what. But anyway, watching it will be cool I hope. A young Heather Graham too, if I recall correctly???

The show's less confusing than Lost Highway and Mulholland Drive. It's more akin to Blue Velvet, only less R-rated disturbing stuff. Young Heather Graham shows up in the TV show around the very end of the last season, and her character is somewhat lacking and uninteresting. I mean, in that show, with a cast of over 20 bizarre and eccentric characters, it's understandable.
