I am simply amazed by the level of sexual tension on JUSTICE LEAGUE UNLIMITED. It's limited by being an "all-ages" show on cartoon network, and as such the hot and heavy feelings have to expressed in more subtle ways, which I love. I mean, anyone remember the movie "The King and I"? The dancing lesson, where Yul Brenner slides his hand onto the small of her back... holy shit, that single moment was hotter than any sex scene I've ever seen.

Add to that the previous romance between Green Lantern John Stewart and Hawkgirl. Anyone who's seen "Wild Cards," which is probably the greatest episode in the entire run of the previous Justice League show can attest to that. And now right out of recent comic stories we're getting the sexual tension between Batman and Wonder Woman.

I absolutely love seeing Bats get hot and bothered. Few women do this to him, and when it happens it's always fun and refreshing to watch Mr. Gloomy get mooshy. Plus, you haven't lived until you've heard Batman sing "Am I Blue."

Yes, he sings. Beautifully. Love (or hormones, depending on how you look at it) forces you to do some hilariously humiliating stuff.

Best lines from last week's episode:
Wonder Woman: "No dating for the Batman. It might cut into your brooding time."
Batman: "You're a princess from a society of immortal warriors, I'm a rich kid with issues. Lots of issues."

I sometimes think it's the artists' and writers' subtle way of making the point that an artform can be something that kids like, and still not be totally "just for kids". Sequential Art, from which these characters come, has suffered long from censorship on the basis of comics being "For Kids". So have cartoons -- I cite Kyle's Mom saying "Well, of COURSE they're going to watch it!" in her tirade against the person thinking the R rating made it abundantly clear that "Asses of Fire" was not a kid's film.
