Goodbye, muttonchops...

thehefnerFor "Good," I finally, FINALLY have a role that not only does not call for Heffie spontenaity and humor, but rather forces me to dampen down those strong aspects of my acting style. I mean, this is what I kinda was trying for with Silvius, but inevitibly, what happened? Crazy Heffie emerged, as usual. Finally I'm forced to try other things. The tricky thing is trying to act 45, instead of 21. I know plenty of flighty, active, spastic people in their 40s, but it's drawing the line between than and a person in their late teens, early 20's.
In other news, I'm going to have to shave my sideburns off. We're still not sure what we're going to do with my hair, since I'm not sure the way it is now would work for a WWII-era German literature professor, much less a member of the S.S. But the muttonchops are absolutely out. Which is fine, since I don't think they'd work for Vigil either, but still... I know they'll grow back, but I'll feel naked without them. But then, I did that too for the sake of theatre, didn't I?
