Hamlet Adventure!
Sep. 19th, 2004 10:17 pmI was sorry to have caught Hamlet on "fine print for a radio ad" night, but regardless it was a damn fine show from everyone involved. Every bit the quality I'd expect from my old peeps the Rudes. To say
shadowcaptain lived up to the hype is a bit of an understatement, and the chemistry he had with
tyhallmark was so strong that my mother was weeping at the very end... I'm talking gasping for air weeping. Bravo, friends. You made my mother cry.
Other notes:
jscbimp's interpretation of Master P as the Karl Rove to Claudius' Bush, the Jaffar to his Sultan, the Shari Lewis to his Lamb Chop... wonderful. I'm kind of amazed I hadn't seen it before, but then I suppose doddering senile Polonius (Ian Richardson in R&G are Dead was a perfect classical P.) is such a beloved institution. Speaking of R&G, everyone in my party, including myself, LOVED them here. Perfect casting. Must meet and schmooze with these new Rudes. And it was so great to finally see me new mate
eldridgeprime on stage as an awesome, truly imposing Ghost.
Oh, and
pokeyburro? Know that
erzebetbathory was... charmed, shall we say, by you on stage and off. You old dog, you. Hopefully when I play Hamlet like Grima Wormtongue I'll have women falling over me. Hmm... pale, dark, and greasy.
I was so happy that erzebet, Liam, and
surrealname had such a good time with the Rudes, and friends from both of my worlds got along so well. We must do this again sometime. Just keep your shirt on next time, Dave.
