Give me one reason I'm going to hell.

Then post this request in your LJ, and I will tell you why YOU are doomed to eternal damnation.

As always, I reserve the right not to respond, since I suck at such things.

Unless this is a Halloween prank (which I'm still half-expecting), the greatest comic crossover of all time is about to happen: MARVEL ZOMBIES VERSUS ARMY OF DARKNESS. Yes, that's right. Ash versus flesh-eating undead superheroes. Pure, utter joy. Even if, as [livejournal.com profile] heykidzcomix pointed out, "how did they manage to spell 'hors d'oeuvres' and not 'dessert'?"

Regardless, I think ARCHIE MEETS THE PUNISHER has finally been dethroned as the greatest crossover ever. Oh who am I kidding, nothing is better than that!

Joe Carnahan, writer/director of one of the greatest cop movies of all time NARC, is directing (and hopefully writing) the adaptation of WHITE JAZZ. Based on the novel by James Ellroy, and the sequel to one of the *other* greatest cop movies of all time, LA CONFIDENTIAL. I hope to holy fuck they get Guy Pearce to reprise his role as Ed Exley (the only returning character, I believe), but even if they don't, I am crazy excited here.

Finally, here we go, that's a much better pic of our costumes in action. Note to self: bug eyes more next time we do this. Because seriously, [livejournal.com profile] bloo_mountain, we have GOT to find another opportunity to bust these costumes out again. Got to got to got to.

Looks like all my plans for tonight have fallen through. So it looks like I'll be spending Halloween tonight alone in a pub, drinking a pint or two and editing THE HEFNER MONOLOGUES while I attempt to track down obscure and bootleg Danny Elfman/Oingo Boingo tracks*.

There have been worse Halloweens, I suppose.

*Anyone have the tracks for "Little Demons", by any chance? Or old/obscure/bootleg Boingo stuff? I'd appreciate it!

Oh, and we finally have some word on the future of THE AMAZING SCREW-ON HEAD, thanks to an interview with show creator Bryan Fuller (of HEROES, DEAD LIKE ME, DS9, and WONDERFALLS fame!):

RT: What's going on with "Amazing Screw-On Head?" Critics loved it, but then it didn't do too well in the ratings. I heard a rumor you guys wanted it at Cartoon Network now.

BF: Mark Stern at the Sci Fi Channel was the lone champion of the show. Everyone else at Sci Fi didn't get it. Now we are waiting very patiently for our pass from Sci Fi so we can take it to Adult Swim.

It was a very different experience than what I was used to doing with live action, and I would love to continue. We have three backup scripts. They are as bizarre and interesting as the pilot. We have Emperor Zombie working with Darwin on Galapagos Island determining that the ultimate evolution is zombification; we have Screw-On Head encouraging Indians to assimilate to the ways of the white man only to discover they've taken it too far - horrifically too far; those sorts of stories. It is a new way to do a twisted soap opera. Hopefully, the show will find a home on another network.

Fingers crossed!
